Formal introduction, if I may......(with pics)
Hello Rolex forum folks. My name is David, and I've been a lurker on your forum for quite some time. And, let me say, it's a great forum, plenty of activity, tons of knowledge, colorful members and some great photography.
Please let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm a 51 year old guy that has been married to a female watch collector, for 30 years. I am also a professional firefighter and medic, but earn a living as a Waterous fire pump service center owner. For those that have no idea what that is, I repair fire pumps. For the good folks that still don't know what that is, look at the operators panel of a fire truck, I repair, and service what's behind it. The need for a watch that can take a beating is paramount, which is why I am a Rolex owner. No tougher watch exists. Think I'm kidding? I scrape, gouge, slam and beat a watch to death every day of my life. I have been on a few forums in the past that had the general impression that a mechanical timepiece is a fragile thing. Nothing is further from the truth, they (Rolex) are bulletproof. Can't speak for other manufactures, but I can with Rolex. Just a heads up on what we own: Dweller, sub date, TT GMT Master II, TT ladies Datejust, daughters TT Datejust and my sons Sub Date. If you will, let me show a few pics. Thanks for having me, and I hope to be a worthy participant. Any questions? Please do not hesitate to ask. And Thanks again..............David Boiling a Dweller. My wifes sub. Dweller at work. Donnas TT Datejust on a ABP strap. TT GMT on a strap. Daughter wife and me. So that brings me to the end of my first post, OK it may be the second, but I had to regester and comment on a post the other day about the feminization of Rolex. So I'll leave you fine folks with a pic of my wifes sub on a girly Bund strap. Hope it doesn't get her banned...............David |

Welcome to the forum. Great to see a whole family of Rolex Wearers.
Great work you are in. As long as there are fires to be fought there will be firefighters as long as there are firefighters there are pumps to be maintained and keep pumping. Keep up the honest work. I too am putting my Rolex to through the daily beatings that life throws at me. Danny <> |

Thanks for the welcome, and the positive comments! Spent the day answering fire and EMS calls, made 10 runs so far, and I've still got 13 hrs. left on my shift. Here's a pic of what I'm driving, and a pic of what I'm wearing...................
PS: I also collect IWC's....................Thanks again.............David |
