Restoring / Polishing steel bezel ?
Was offered a 26320 from a local grey market AD....the watch is in decent shape but was certainly worn and previously polished (but clearly not by AP). Some of the bezel edges are a bit softened. It has been worn since the polish as there some visible scratches on the polished parts of the bezel.
If I went for it, this would be a daily wearer for me and in some ways my mind would be a little more relaxed and not worried about the 'first scratches of dings'. I know polished AP's are scratch magnets and have owned several in the past. I wasn't bothered by scratches I put but loved the 'sharpness' and clean cut lines / facets of the AP bezels. However, it may start to bug me after a while, so.....should I consider sending the 26320 to an APSC would they be able to restore/polish the bezel to its sharp edge 'almost new' look or since its been previously polished would insist on a new bezel ? Has anyone ever had their bezels worked on by an APSC ? and if so were they able to get back the edges ? TIA |

I would stay away. They're gonna have to take more off to restore. Just get a better condition one ...

Great question I would like to know as well. OP, the soft edges would drive me crazy as well. And it isn’t just the edges that don’t get polished correctly. I have also found that independently (non AP) polished bezels also have that fun-house mirror effect that are indicative of an incorrect process. Would drive me crazy because it changes some of the most loved features of the watch.

You’d be surprised at how amazing AP can restore it... if you’re still unhappy, there’s always the option of just replacing the bezel too.
