Even datejust has slight premiums
Saw one of the thread a european forummer mention that bnib DJ has slight premiums (normal ones not Wimbledon) in The grey market
What do you think of this phenomenon and do you attribute to the AD closure, factory less production due to virus or insane amounts of global central banks money printing and liquidity injection Is now a good time to be looking at five digit DJ? Or wait till the craze actually cool off abit for DJ. Or do you see DJ premiums continue rising in future and some of the sports models even reaching new record high premiums Source: (post #9) https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=745992 |

Date just should be easy to find under msrp depending on the model. Especially 5 digit

I think that if AD's are selling at above MSRP, they are likely trying to make up for being closed and taking advantage of the increased demand after reopening.

I have noticed grey market pricing is increasing; perhaps they think everyone stuck at home over the past few months, and have not spent much money due to store closures, are going to pay more for watches once things are back to normal.
I just miss being able to look at regular Rolex models in stores.

If your collection is complete, then it’s better if there’s a Rolex drought
Just means your pieces keep gaining value |

A Grey Dealer, or the many second-hand shops can sell for whatever they want, and will price their stuff to whatever the market will pay.

You definitely should not be paying over MSRP for a DJ. There are way too many variations of the same model for them to sustain high prices relative to MSRP.

I bought both of my 36mm datejusts (with the new movements) off the shelf at my local AD.
No way would I pay a premium. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk |

It's just the 'ask' OP... I am sure bundled with steel sports when making the deal at the AD

DJ prices were low when I bought mine a month ago. They still appear to low now, under 6K USD for new with box / papers on chrono24. So yeah, no reason to pay msrp for a DJ.
