Well, you did have a lot of beautiful watches to keep your mind off of the long wait. Nicely done!

Exactly! Nice to see something different from the usual Rolex/AP/PP watches.

La Difference, this store is truly business with honesty. Unlike the usual “strings” or “bundles” that most stores require these days I repaid them by referring lots of friends to them but they did not make me buy anything else on top of this piece, simple patience and my word on never sell the piece for profit are good enough for them, which is rarely seen lately.

It’s a long journey and frankly, receiving this 116500LN black isn’t as exciting as I thought I would be, probably got spoiled by other goodies during the 2-year wait

Yeah. After many months of waiting I can see how it doesn’t quite live up to all the built up excitement. But the black dial is an instant classic man!

I always fancy the black dial over the panda, especially after seeing my buddy’s panda dial, it seemed a little... pale and over contrasting. That made up my mind of getting the 116519 instead, which I’m glad that I did, even after receiving this 116500, I still consider the WG 116519 is my favorite Rolex of all time, which
IMHO, is the correct PN dial.

That’s interesting. I also have a 116519 OF and told my AD I really want the black. I see the 116519 and 116500 black as a cool pair because you have a silver sunburst dial with black subdials and then you have the black dial with the silver subdials. But at the same time I wonder how much I would really wear the black because the 116519 is in my opinion hands down the nicest of the modern Daytonas. I’ve even tried on a Platona but I still prefer the 519.

You have an amazing collection!

I agree, although the SS version is a much better daily beater, the 116519 is still the more charming one and its texture is much more refined than SS without being too much of “in your face”, like the YG and RG version.

This is the reason I love to wear it. It flies very much under the radar. I’ve never received one compliment outside of a watch store on my 116519.
