Thickness of new Omega 321 SS?
Does anyone know the thickness of the coming Omega Speedmaster with 321 movement? I have not found that specification anywhere, which is a bad sign.
Is it anywhere close to Daytonas 12mm or more like 14-15 you think? |

I have been curious about that as well and have not found anything definitive.
I would guess it would be slightly thicker than the original Ed white to account for the sapphire case back and any increase in the bezel thickness as a result of the ceramic?

Thickness of new Omega 321 SS?
Given that there is less than half a mm between the height of the 4130 and the Omega 1861, I'd say it has a lot more to do with case design than movement.
Edit: original calibre 321 is 7.64 high. The new one being an exact copy would be the same. Put that in a Speedy case and you're not getting anywhere near a Daytona in thickness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It will most likely be a tiny bit under 15mm... similar to most speedy pro variations.

For me , this watch is going to come down to comfort on the wrist. Thickness and case shape will be meaningful if it is going to be a keeper.

Yes the thickness is just a number, my SD43 is thick but wears quite comfortably minus the weight (glide lock bracelets need to be a thing on all sports models Rolex take note), that being said I don't wear suits so its to each their own.

I find speedys in general wear slim, the eye doesnt read the sapphire as the part of the watch thickness
