Trying to 'restore' this 1675 GMT master, which was badly polished in the past.

Obviously not even close to the level that LAWW or other can go, but I'm pretty happy with the result. Can't get much better than this on RSC equipment.

Small laser treatment on the crown guard because of the big dent there

Will post the finished watch.... once it is finished

I’m no expert but dang that looks good. Specially that crown guard that was previously banged up!

Now I’m really gonna wear my watch hard hahaha

(Now that I see laser welding is becoming more and more common)

Looks good.

50+ year old watches aren't expected to look like they just came off the assembly line. Any old case that can be brought back to 90% or more has got to be considered an amazing feat and a plus for the watch community.

Bas, you do good work there with what you have.

My question is this:
How does RSC decide when laser welding or other techniques won’t be used and the old case is too damaged? Thereby requiring a new midcase from the inventory must be used.

Lapping machine, belt grinder and polishing machine.

Just for small dents like the one shown. If you have major damage or pitting it will be a new case.

I don't know which machine they use exactly, but they do use ones with tin disks which can high shine polish without losing the sharp edge. They also have a very complex handle for the lapping machine. Both of those things are not on the Rolex one.
