What is a rectangular dial? I know what stick dial means, but I can’t see what rectangular dial means.
I hope you are able to help me out! - best regards |

The triangular hand rotates at half the speed of the hour hand and points to the hour on bezel. Usually set to Greenwich Mean Time hence the name.
Not sure that was your question though? Rectangular dial? |

I saw that expression too, and I think it refers to the roman numerals in GMT MASTER II. Some dials have standard roman numerals "II", which kind of form a rectangle, and some have sticks "ll".

Oh ok. I thought OP was a newbie with only 3 posts so not sure he knew the functions of a GMT but obviously more advanced if looking for specific dials.

If you're shopping for a gmt2 I would suggest that more important is to get a recent one in good condition. I was in the market for one recently (but bought something else) and remembered that 2014 would be a nice year for a used gmt2. After mid 2015 Rolex introduced the 5 year warranty, but that's pretty much over by now. The older 3 year warranty ones have the same parts anyway. |
