Rolex "Two-fer's": one watch, two criteria met.

Hello! Let me give you some clear examples of what I'm talking about right off the bat:

I have an Oyster Perpetual from 1966. It is basically an unbranded Air-King, so one could say that the 34mm Oyster Perpetual is a "two-fer" for the Air-King, and vicie-versie...

I've got a good one for you: a "three-fer" (!). I wanted a Day/Date, I wanted a solid gold Presidential, and I wanted an Oysterquartz: my Oysterquartz nails all three of these criteria very nicely (as well as several other criteria as well).

How about you? Can you think of any instances in which a watch covers a "broader criteria"...?

The GMT Master 2 is probably the best example. It covers the explorer 2 and submariner. It has a 100m water resist to dive as well as a slightly worse timing bezel to cover the sub and a GMT to cover the explorer 2. That's why you see a lot of GMT Master 2 votes in the "best one watch only threads".

I’d say Explorer 2.

It’s has GMT Master 2 functionality with the Milgauss paramagnetic blue hairspring...and it comes on brushed oyster bracelet like a Sub without all the extra fiddling of the glidelock clasp.

Skydweller offers the most of any Rolex. It is not even close.

This is how I feel about the SD4K. Might even be a 3-fer!

First it is an SD -- Deeper depth, He escape valve, full gradient markers, etc.

Second it has qualities of a black no date SubC -- Black dial, black bezel, symmetric dial

Third it has slimmer lugs more reminiscent of a 5 digit Sub.

Best of all possible worlds for a dive watch for me!

I stand corrected. You’re right - SkyD #1 hands down.
