[Vintage Day Dates] SCOC font alignment query
As titled, curious on the SCOC font as I noticed even for similar year productions and model, the font alignment varies.
Could this potentially be helpful in an authenticity check for DDs given that there are numerous fakes out there? Is there a approx guideline to know which yr/variant/serial number has which font alignments? Have also heard of SCOC font whereby the 2 liners are lined up neatly? Never seen one before though 1st pic is a 1993 18239 pinball index whereby 'E' is more aligned to left 'L' 2nd pic is a 1994 18238 diamond index whereby 'E is more aligned to right 'L' (Apologies for slight slant) |

Up until pretty recently when Rolex brought all aspects of manufacturing in-house, dials were farmed out to different manufactures and there were many different variants, especially in the printing. I bet if you flipped both of those dials over, they may have been produced by different manufacturers. One may have been made by Beyeler and the other made by Singer.
