Finally Joining the Rolex Family

After admiring from afar the classic oyster case and bracelet aesthetic I finally pulled the trigger on a nontraditional iteration of the oyster design: the Day-Date.

I picked up a P series model with a domed bezel and oyster bracelet. This is a big acquisition for me. I've worn an IWC Mark XVI pilot's watch every day for the past ten years. While I still adore that watch I really had an itch to try Rolex and particularly in gold as I'm a gold stacker and numismatist (aka coin collector). Thanks for reading and enjoy the pictures.

Icon7

Congratulations on your first Rolex! Both are wonderful watches, the IWC Pilot Mark series is an iconic workhorse. However their releases in recent years with the somewhat displaced date window is an unfortunate period in the series. The Day-Date is sublime in the yellow and blue colour combination. Enjoy it in the best of health.
