Deepsea 126660 Black Owners
Hi there, I'm pretty certain on getting the black dial version for a daily wearer, how do you all like it? any issues or all positive? I have a large wrist 7.5 inches with a large frame, thinking this will be a perfect fit! Let me know your experience below if you like!

I think with a 7.5 inch wrist and a daily wearer with a black face the SD43 will be a better fit. I have a 7.25-7.5 inch wrist and it fits pretty perfectly. With your wrist size that would be my perfect daily. The DSSD is cool but to me it’s a rotation Watch. Too tall and the proportions of the SD43 with the 22mm bracelet are perfect. I know the new JC has 22mm bracelet now but not sure about the black dial. I know the ones from a few years ago had 20mm bracelets and it was like having a house on your wrist at over 17mm tall. Super thick case.

I have the model you are considering, and have a 7" wrist, but I don't feel it wears too big for me. It has some heft and feels much tougher than my Batman given its size. With your wrist it will be fine IMO.

My wrist is around 7.5- 7.75" and when I tried it, it fit very well. It is thick, yes, but Omega Planet Oceans can be just as and even thicker, and they have not posed a problem for me either, because they're well balanced. The newest DSSD is nicely balanced, IMO.

It's big, but it will be fine on your wrist, same as mine

I Think as a daily I would want a 8 inch plus to wear a DSSD. I tried one one and it was just too tall for me to want to wear as a daily. I think the sd43 looks perfect on a 7.5 inch wrist. Just the route I would look into. Thanks for the information. I think the newer DSSD would wear much better then the one I tried on in the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The 126660 is an awesome watch - super capable, fun to wear, ton of presence. I picked my up exactly one year ago tomorrow, and love it. Wearing it today, couldn’t see parting with it. Enjoy.

If you can tolerate the thickness of the case then I would opt for the JC version. The beauty of the JC dial justifies the tolerance of the case being extremely tall. If black dial is a must, the SD43 is the answer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the black dial 126660 and also the sd43. I had the 116660 as well for several years. I’d say this; the newer DSSD with 22mm lugs does wear better than its predecessor with narrower spaced lugs. Also lug to lug has been shortened. The sd43 actually is longer lug to lug. I love the DSSD but the weight needs to be tolerated. The sd43 wins in that department. But the overall presence and dial of the DSSD is hard to beat. Very tough choice. For overall ease comfort the sd43 gets most of the wear lately.

The ones from a few years ago(the 116660) had a 21mm bracelet which IMO is neither here nor there in real/practical terms when compared to the current 22mm offering. Visually there is a difference though. And it may have been like a house to you but the watch has certainly been a great daily wearer for me and my wrist is within the size range of the OP's stated range(weather dependent). To get back on topic. As a 116660 owner I can't speak to the 126660, but it's a perfectly fine watch in all respects. The DSSD(as a format) replaced all the other Rolex watches I had in my collection ![]() Even if I still miss some of them occasionally when I see very nice pics of the same reference posted on the forum ![]() I would consider the 126660 to be fine if it's in line with one's typical style and size of watch, but for a lot of people it would quite probably be easier to have as part of a collection as is mine, even if it gets >90% of the wrist time. A larger frame obviously helps as my height is north of 6' with rather big hands. |

The DSSD is a big watch all round but wears very well for a big watch. Daily wearing can be done Just as long as you’re fine with how thick it is.

Great watch.
Black dial has that classy monochrome look of the Sub vs the slightly tacky (to me) blue fade dial. Heft and solidity of the bracelet and case is hard to beat and does make other watches feel a little 'inadequate' ;) The DS-specific variant of Glidelock is the icing on the cake. You can easily fine tune fit and the DS does benefit from being kept slighty snug due to the weight. Things to bear in mind: Your daily may be different to other people's daily. Shirts will be awkward. Same with a G-Shock. Do you really want to daily such a fine watch? Maybe if you've not seen the fit and finish when the stickers come off you might change your mind. Honestly don't worry about what some say about it being enormous or whatever. By modern standards it's not at all. G-Shocks are thicker and women wear them. The difference is the weight and DS feels dense. But that's one of the things you'll appreciate about it vs even other Rolex watches. |

I've had the black dssd since it came out and love it. I would suggest removing the divers link as I found that enabled me to get the perfect fit.
It is totally over engineered and you will love it. |

I near daily my 126660 black, for reference I'm 6'2" and 220. It definitely is not going to disappear but at your size it won't look like a kid who stole his dad's watch as people fear.
There are times I find myself missing the weight when I switch it up to one of my 40 MM models. |

Great watch, and it fits well on my 7.75-8” wrist, and I’ve worn larger watches for a long time, but the thickness of this one is considerably more noticeable than the Planet Oceans. I have taken to wearing my yachtmaster more. I would caution you from trying to balance wearing a smaller, and thinner 4mm watch and the DSSD, because one will definitely feel off pretty quickly.

I would opt for the JC. I've had both black and JC and the JC pops so much more and further distinguishes the watch from the sub and SDs in the world. I'm 6'2 with a 7.5'' flat wrist and have no problem wearing this watch as a daily beater. It actually gets about 90%+ of the wrist time and comfort is great and the thickness really isn't an issue once you get used to it.

Great watch, very comfortable once you get the bracelet adjusted correctly, which took me many tries and 3 trips to the AD to order links. Ended up removing the divers extension, adding 1 plus a half link to one side and another half link on the other and now it feels like a part of my wrist. External glidelock adjustment is awesome. The broad flat caseback is very comfortable, SD43 has a protruding caseback which bothers some, may or may not be an issue for you.
I am 6'4, 215 lbs, with a 7.25" wrist. You'll be fine. I had a SubC before and felt it was far too small for me, especially the skinny bracelet. |

I've got a 126660 JC and an SD43. Im indifferent to the SD43 but will never get rid of the DSSD. In my opinion the black 116660 is the most bad ass watch Rolex have made. The 126660 apparently wears better - I have no issues.

Black 126660 on a 7 3/4" wrist. 5'10"/170 lbs. Fits like a glove.
