New President Clasp Question

I know they updated the band with the P serial, but when did they upgrade the clasp since then? I searched and one person said it started with the F serial, but before I take the plunge I want to make sure.

Also, does anyone here have a preference between new and old? What exactly is improved?

The new style clasp is much better, I found the older style pinkish gold clasp was prone to wear. I have a D serial DD, the pres bracelet and clasp is a 100% improvement, the locking system feels much more secure and positive.

Gotcha and thank you. D is the serial after F if I'm not mistaken so I'm trying to make sure an F I'm interested in would have it.

Mine is a "Y" serial and it has the new style clasp, not the pinkish gold clasp. It is solid also, I believe the "pinkish gold" clasp has an slot down the middle.
