Strange Precision Font/Lettering?

Hi everyone-

I ran into this 6694 that I am considering getting, mainly for the cool blue steel hand.
The dial looks original to me but the font/lettering of "Precision" looks strange.

If it is in fact a re-dial, I am having a hard time understanding that someone went through to get the applied logo and other lettering nicely but this "Precision" was kept half-baked...

Have you encountered this type of font before?

The photo is not mine.

I appreciate it your input.

Very common for a watch of that age. These were tool watches and it was much cheaper to repaint the wording than to replace the dial.

Most likely the wording was "washed" at some point and a local watch maker painted on the new letters.
