DJ 126300 41 all steel dark rhodium/wimbledon dial
Hi all,
I hope you are all doing well. I am moving my 116710 LN as I haven't worn it in months. Purchased an airking 116900 which I liked, but not loved and ended up trading it for an explorer 1. However, I find myself missing a date function too much. I came accross the DJ 126300 smooth steel bezel Wimbledon Dial / Dark Rhodium. This watch could end my journey to being a one watch man for a while and would wear well both in a business or casual context. I would appreciate feedback/impressions/recommendations from owners and those who considered it and passed on it. Also would you recommend jubilee or oysterbracelet? on this, I dreaded the CPL of my GMT 2. Would it be compatible with a non CPL bracelet? Feel free to post pics - Thx guys! Love my Wimbledon 126300. It’s my daily wearer for work because I need the date and because I don’t want to wear my Sub in court under a suit. I went with the oyster bracelet. I did an amateurish 9 mo review on YouTube.

I was at my AD in Aug. 2018 to purchase a silver dial DJ41 but at the last minute I ordered the Wimbledon which was an alloted piece, so I prepaid and recieved a nice discount, took 4 weeks to show up. I do like the silver and rhodium dials but I'm glad since that I didn't play it safe as the Wimbledon may be a little out of the box choice however l always liked romans and the character of this piece never dissapoints. Always Smooth/Oyster for me..

Alot of DJ owners would say:
- smooth bezel + oyster bracelet - fluted bezel + jubilee bracelet The fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet will hide scratches better than the smooth bezel and oyster bracelet (if you worry about that).

Is the rhodium on the Wimbledon dial identical to the sticks rhodium? Thank you.

I did smooth bezel/jubilee bracelet. For me that was a great combo to have a dressy when needed but casual as well. Imo the fluted bezel/jubilee bracelet combo is great, but more on the dressy side and thats not what I needed for a daily wearer. Some cons I hear on the forums is it could be hard to read the time in certain lighting situations. Also, the lone 9'oclock stick lume bothers some. Neither of which bother me at all. Its a great reference in any configuration you choose. |

great choice on the wimbledon, really amazing DJ option and one of the best releases in recent times.
I think jubilee/fluted would confer a more dressy appearance and make the watch more eye-catching. oyster/smooth bezel would be more sporty and under-the-radar. the variant you pick should align with your preference

The smooth bezel makes for a really clean combo with the Wimbledon.

My favorite Rolex. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the combinations.

smooth bezel jubilee for me as the bracelet gives the watch all the pop it needs and i am dubious as to the value the fluted bezel adds at the price charged for it

Here’s a pic of my Wimbledon with smooth bezel against a DJ36 with fluted. Both have the jubilee bracelet and for me that’s that’s the part that makes both of them “pop”. Also noted that the polished links don’t show scratches anywhere near as badly as the gmt oyster bracelet.

for me the marker at 9 balances the dial in 2 ways as it adds white to the dial opposite the date window background and you have 5 characters above and below the centre line of the dial
all a matter of personal opinion as i would not have bought a DJ41 if i couldnt get that dial

To my eyes, the fluted bezel minimizes the visual impact / noticeability of the 9 marker. With the smooth bezel, the 9 marker seems to jump out more.
I still wonder if the Wimbledon dial (called Slate on the Rolex site) is identical to the Dark Rhodium dial. They look identical online to my eyes but then again, there are two distinct dial color names so there must be even a slight difference...? |

Lots of justifiable praise for the Wimbledon but my vote goes to the Dark Rhodium on a Jubilee.
Mine says hello
