Adjusting SeaDweller Bracelet for a lady (tiny wrist)

I have been trying to get a SeaDweller to fit on my girlfriends wrist. I have removed the maximum amount of links. The issue is, when I make the clasp smaller (move the pin in the clasp), it won't completely shut when the watch is worn.

What happens is that the end of the clasp is too small so the bracelet link doesn't fit inside the clasp. It kinds of sticks "out and up" and is not flush with the links.

Does this make sense to anyone? If so - is there anyway to make the bracelet + clasp flush for a woman's small wrist?

Thanks!

What I do, when my wife wants to wear a big watch for her tiny wrist, is to replace the bracelet with a strap.

Don't forget that the SD is a heavy watch, and being on a tiny wrist such as your girlfriend's could be pushing it. A tiny wrist and a heavy watch are not a good combination, IMHO.

Cheers.

I believe a watchmaker can remove even more links for you.

Tried the strap suggestion but she won't have it... Gotta figure out a way to get this bracelet to fit before she dumps me.

Cato - do they destroy the links when removed?

I have a small wrist and wear a Polar Expy II. The Dallas RSC removed one permanent link on the 6:00 side. Yes, it was destroyed and they told me it would happen before they did it. Now, it fits great. I'm not saying it makes my wrist look bigger than it is; but, the watch fits great. Sits straight up on the wrist. Feels great, etc.

Mark echoes what I was going to suggest - removal of a permanent link. We had the same situation with the Expy II (my husband gave me his) but decided to get some leather straps instead. I just didn't like the idea of making the watch unwearable for him.

And, I guess it just seems almost a sacrilege to cut up a Rolex band that way. I just have to remember to take off the watch when I'm giving the kids a bath so the strap doesn't get wet.

If the permanant link is taken out correctly, a removeable link can be added in its place. Just make sure the center link is not damaged. Hey 77, she wouldn't really dump you over a link, would she????......David

If she'll dump you, then you have no reason to give her the SD.

Here's a short story: My male co-worker went out and bought his girlfriend a Baume Mercier, for $1,200. They were dating at that time for almost 2 months. He thought, that "she was the one." Shortly after, they broke up. The girlfriend kept the watch, my co-worker was $1, 200 poorer!

I don't need to give the moral of the story, do I?

Yes, it can be done. But, if the girlfriend really has tiny wrist, the SD will still be worn loose and heavy.

That's what we did with my wife's DJ, and still loose. IMHO, strap is the best option.

In that case, it might be helpful to compare wrist sizes? (you and OP's GF).

Let's see... my wrist is about 6.25" where I wear the watch. I've had more trouble getting a strap to fit properly than any bracelet...

My wifes sub has all the removeable links out, and the micro adjustment in the innermost pin hole. Fits her perfectly. Her wrists are 5.25 inches. That Dweller should fit you like a glove with one link in. and the micro about half way out............Am I correct????...............David

PS: Strap problem? Buy a strap hole puncher, works like a charm!

The straps I have are deployment clasps... no holes.

My wrist is about 5 1/2 inches, David, but the Expy II was still too loose when adjusted the same way. Is the Expy II bracelet a little longer or something?

And when I wanted an extra hole punched in the leather straps, a local shoe repair shop did it for free. I was there all of one minute!

Don't know if it is any longer, Lisa. But I do know it's a different bracelet, so it may be.

Jen, what type of deployant clasp are you using? I'm thinking friction fit, all of the ones we own use holes to attach the strap, just like a tang buckle.............David
