2nd service for same issue?
Let me start of by saying that I understand all mechanical components are subject to wear and tear and failure. However...
I had my Submariner sent in for service due to a grinding or rubbing sound when winding the watch, kind of felt like gritty sand. Only in the winding direction. The watch was repaired under warranty with Rolex only stating “serviced movement” now it’s been 8 months. I go to wind the watch and same symptoms. I should mention my watch came back with dings and scratches that weren’t there prior to it going in for service. Do I send it in again? Do I request it gets sent to a different RSC center? I’m contemplating having it sent to a independent watch maker and paying for the repairs and skipping the warranty instead of having another incompetent hack take my watch apart carelessly. |

How did you get it sent in? If through an AD I would have a chat with them to see what's going on. If you sent it yourself, I'd call up RSC and ask about the dings/scratches, especially if you documented it before having it shipped out.
Sounds like if it's still under warranty I'd send it in again. If it's not under the original warranty, there should be a 2 year service warranty you should be able to take advantage of. |

Sounds to me like it's fully wound and the bridle is slipping inside the mainspring barrel, as designed.

Larry has a point worth checking. Let the watch run down completely. Then wind it only clockwise for 5 turns and see if this grinding is still present. Or if it has disappeared. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I waited until it was fully stopped since I was thinking the same thing of it being fully wound. But the grinding sensation is still present.
