DJ 41 Blue Dial
Buying my first rolex and decided on a DJ 41 with a jubilee bracelet, fluted bezzel, and blue dial. AD is letting me put 20% down to order one from rolex, but cant give me any ETA on it.
Has anyone had any expirience with this type of order? What should i expect timewise? Im trying to decide if its worth the wait to go through the AD or if I should just go grey and pay an extra 1000$? Any otther downfalls to going gray aside from the cost? Warranty is still good right? Also, torn between stick dial or diamond dial so if anyone has any pics or thoughts that could sway me, that would be appreciated. Sorry for all the questions, just trying to do this right! |

Sticks - it already sparkles! 20% down sounds right, probably will take a 1-2 months.

Blue Stick / Fluted / Jubilee is my favorite with a Black dial and White dial as 2nd and 3rd.
If the AD is letting you put 20% down, I'd save the $1000 and just wait (prob should take 2 - 3 months). Save the $1k for your next piece

I have one in order stick dial fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. 20% down is the deposit and it’s standard. I do not expect it to be a 3 month wait. I say it will be under a month. Just wait.
Nothing wrong with Gray Dealers. Besides the markup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That is the exact configuration I have and identical situation. I put 20% down and 3 months later had the watch.

Sounds right for the AD experience - go for it! You only buy your first Rolex once!! I prefer sticks over diamonds unless you want a dressier watch. I opted for the oyster and love it!

I would put the money down with the AD. You are building a relationship with him. So what if it takes 1-2 months? You will now be on his radar for future sales.
Gorgeous watch BTW. It's the only DJ that I like. |

Definitely AD route, undoubtedly you’ll start to understand the Rolex hype and be after you next piece soon, I bet

I purchased my blue sticks smooth jubilee with 1/2 down and waited 18 weeks for delivery. I needed a fluted bezel so it took about a month to get this one (last month) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Did you keep the smooth bezel version? I have the smooth version and like the fluted, but can’t justify two! Wondering on the cost if I sold the smooth version.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If AD is saying put 20% down, I think that's great. Both ADs I normally do business with said the blue DJ41 can't be ordered. But that was when I asked about a year ago. So maybe it's changed.
Good luck and post pics when you get it. |

Took me close to a year to get my DJ41. Very very hard to come by in my neck of the woods.

I thought DJ41 are allocation only pieces now?
In the UK at least, I would expect wait times would be much longer than others have experienced on here, especially for a blue dial. Fluted or smooth bezel? Oyster or jubilee? Sticks or diamonds? All down to it personal preference and budget. You can't really go wrong with a SS DJ41. |

Go for it. Diamonds are cool, sticks give you the lume so it’s a tough choice between the two. If your dressing code is always suits then you may go diamonds, if you’re more casual go sticks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

blue stick, fluted bezel with jubilee band is a "darling" :-)
20% down is ok. I am planning to trade my Wimbledon with blue DJ41. depending on where you are, wait time could be 2-3 months. Some places its more. |

Things have changed. Just 4 months ago they could not be ordered. Now they can. Rolex is taking orders again on some models. Plus they amped up the SA DJ 41 production. Dealers are getting them in Every week now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I got my blue DJ41 blue flutted bezel sticks within a day of asking, but my AD is pretty good to me. I know I am a good VIP.
Stick No diamonds. But put more $ and find a VC overseas blue, that’s much better watch, and I have both. But you never know. I wanted to getcc V a DD 40 YG white to my and, they said 1-6 weeks and I am on 6 weeks waiting now, they are very apologetic. I asked for Sea Dweller James Cameron and got it in less than two weeks, so go figure—- you ever know.

The negative to dealing with any of the grey-market dealers, including many TRF “trusted sellers” - is that your contributing to the problem. The grey dealers buy up inventory, then resell above MSRP, fueling this frenzy and artificially inflating the prices.
Go AD and be patient. It’ll happen. |

The VC is a wonderful piece and (based on my chats with the boutique) the sales staff are very pleasant and honest when it comes to waitlists etc. It’s a big jump in price though to the DJ41 and wears very differently. The DJ feels very slender whereas you know you’re wearing the VC. The bonus it has though is the additional straps. They’re a really nice addition. |

Positively beautiful. I have to 36 fluted jubilee as I think that suits me better. 41 is now allocation only so would have to wait until they got their allocation. The blue changes depending on the light and absolutely gorgeous

Go through AD to build up relationship and history. Make sure you tell him that you could’ve bought grey, but decided not to because you want to build a long term relationship with them. I think a saving of $1000 is worth it even if you don’t want to buy more Rolex from the AD. I went for diamonds as I think it elevates the DJ41 to a different level especially on a blue dial.

I prefer the stick dial over diamonds - lume is more useful than diamonds for me. I really like the blue stick/smooth bezel/jubilee DJ41. That configuration seems both dressy and casual enough to cover most bases. 20% down and waiting is becoming the norm for this as I understand it.

The sticks over the diamonds for an everyday wear. I am not aware of the price on the grey market but I assume it exceeds the msrp. I don't think you will get a discount at the AD so the real number is msrp plus tax. How much different is that than the Trusted Seller price. If only a few hundred, up to $500-700, I would buy from a Trusted Seller. Get my watch and start the ownership experience. If you do go the deposit route make sure it is refundable at any point you choose and not given as a store credit. I do not like open ended commitments from AD's as it can cause more problems than it solves. And the relationship you are trying to establish can be completely estranged should things go south. You will not have the watch, you will have waited and you will have hard feeling toward the AD. Get the information and make the best choice for you. Or just buy the watch today and move on. Good luck.

I recently got the exact same configuration. Mine arrived six months after I ordered it and put 50% down. Still, it was worth the wait. Beautiful watch. Enjoy yours!

I did sell the smooth version locally via FB Marketplace. I actually made $350 more than what I paid and put it towards my new fluted version. While I really enjoyed my smooth DJ41, I absolutely LOVE my new one. It is hard to justify the $2,000 price difference, especially if one can’t inspect them in person (only looking at internet pics and videos). But when you see it (fluted) in person, it is worth it Here’s a video of mine that (I think) captures just how impactful the fluted bezel is... https://youtu.be/RowavL1HD7s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
