1675 pepsi insert identification
Hello community,
Does this insert qualify as an original late 1960s fat font? (1.1 mil serial). Red back, oval 8s seem fine, though I am not quite sure about the triangle. Thanks in advance for your opinions. |

I would say that insert is early to at least mid-1970s.
A 1.1 million serial case isn't considered late 1960s.

Not only the triangle.
I believe this strong red is typically 70‘ https://www.instagram.com/vintage_georgex/ |

1675 pepsi insert identification

The triangle is one consistent tell. It’s visually a bit wider in the middle by comparison. The “red” section also tends to have a brick red in early and more orangish hue in mid 60’s gilt era. Sometimes the “blue” section also has a violet tone. Note the details on this early gilt era example. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Btw, were fuchsia bezels seen [natively] on late gilt watches, or exclusively mk I matte? |

I'm not an insert expert, but I would be comfortable with a fuchsia being period correct if that's important to you, on a late '60s long E Mk0 - Mk1 with SN range between 1.6 - 1.9. Many put whatever insert they like cosmetically on their 1675 that pleases their eye, but it is nice to have a semblance of "correctness" to many as well.
