Hmmm fairly old one, still has Rolex and Tudor on the same dial, I have a feeling there are a few of the oldies that do have this, but I could be wrong.

Guys, Opionions?

Very interesting. I wonder what Stan will say on this one?!

The font looks different on both watches and there is a period after "Co." on the one listed on this post...

Here is another one:

...mmmm...

...interesting on these 2 watches.

...I would like Springer to look at these before passing judgement. I sent John a request about this thread.

This is the second or third time I have seen one of these dials, which mimic the Rolex dials from the late 1930's through the 1940's. (They usually originate from Australia or somewhere nearby.) The circular minute marker and Arabic numbers perfectly mimic some of these older Rolex watches. The seller claims this watch is from the 1960's.

I believe this watch was the result of a re-dialer many years ago that attempted to tie the Tudor line of watches to their Rolex lineage. I believe that this dial is not a genuine Tudor dial produced by Tudor/Rolex. If it were genuine, there would be many more of these watches on the market for sale as it would be one very rare watch.

My opinion is prima facie. The dial appears to be re-dialed to appear vintage as a late 1930's - 1940's Rolex and contains Rolex Watch Co dial markings which is inconsistent with the thousands of other Tudor watches that have been manufactured since 1946/47. If anyone has one of these watches, feel free to contact me and I'll have it examined by the RSC in Dallas.

...a Tudor is a Tudor....nothing more. Yes, the earlier Tudor CASES were made by Rolex, as evidenced by the appropriate stampings on the case back.

...NOT the dials.
