I bought 2 Rolex in 2020
116660 - Deepsea
116334 - Datejust II

Now I'm asking myself. Should I get the Submariner because of the hype?

If you want it because you like it and want to add to your collection, then buy one. If you want it just because of the hype, don’t buy.

I would much rather have a Submariner than a Deep
Sea. You can’t wear a Deep Sea with a cuffed shirt. That watch is far too thick. I went to pick up a James Cameron and after wearing it for 8 seconds I knew it
was limited with what I can wear it with (personally)

The Sub on the other hand can be worn with a dress shirt and a t shirt.

It all boils down to personal preference. But the sub is a staple watch in any collection (again, personal opinion) not just a hype watch, it’s not a Hublot

When a Sub sings to you then buy it, don’t fall for the hype.

Yes, try to be objective and see if you would buy the watch if selling it meant a 20% loss as was the standard case before.

You shouldn't buy anything because of hype. Do you want a dive style watch. If so, a Submariner isnt a bd choice .

If you’ve got the Deep Sea and wear it without finding it too big, no you don’t need a Sub as you already have a better dive watch.

The Submariner is a great watch and I have two in my collection and a DSSD JC. If you like the watch and it will get some wear, then why not. Buy what you want for any reason you want and enjoy. It is your money so why not do what brings you enjoyment and who cares what the motivation is? Go for it.
