Yach-Master goes to Daytona (or a little trip report with some wrist shots)...

.....as my parents are visiting from the old country, I decided to take FRI off and take a little
'across the Florida weekend trip." We left FRI morning and started to head NE across the state
through old (and new) FL towns.
At first we stumbled upon thousands of bikers in Leesburg. Later we made a little detour and stopped
in a very 'modern old-fashioned' community called The Villages where Red Hat Society ladies took over town ;)
After a nice lunch we continued to old Florida town called Mount Dora that is famous by 'many' antique shops.
(the shops are not my cuppa tea, but a neat town nevertheless.) Of course I stumbled inside some of them
in hope to find some vintage watch gem - sorry no luck .... :D

Our trip later continued to Daytona and Daytona Beach. Interestingly - I live in FL for 18 years and Daytona
is only 3 hours away from me, but this was my first time visiting the famous Daytona Beach. (I have been to
Daytona to watch the evening NASCAR race once - but never made it to the beach. We experienced a beautiful
sunrise yesterday as you can see from the above pictures and overall it was great trip exploring my home state,
not to mention the enjoyment of my parents' company - since I do not get to see them too often.

Glad you liked the pictures, guys.
(Morten, this was actually sunrise. The pics look very similar to those taken
at sunset except for these I had to set the alarm and wake up )

..glad you like the pics of cars as well. What really took my interest were the special roads
only for golf carts in The Villages...and the downtown parking lots flooded with them.
As I am sure you have noticed....many of those 'vintage car' pictures are actually golf carts
in vintage skins as people (mostly retirees) use them over there as regular means of transportation.
(The town was also flooded with YG DDs and TT DJ on older gentlemen wrists )

Fantastic post, Milos!

I spent 6 months in and around Daytona, and your photos bring back lots of memories of that beautiful region.

Don't know if I can attend the actual GTG event next month, but I do hope to get to meet you in NYC!
