submariner sub bezel 74 clicks

i have a submariner that is unknown if its real or not, the clicks are very audible, there is a pin not a piece of wire under the bezel
everything else down to the band and etching on the glass looks legit, seal on winder is there too
was there ever a 74 click sub
there is numbers in between the lugs but i cant read them at all, they are virtually gone
crown has the 3 dots on it
any thoughts on this im thinking its fake although a good one

It's a fake and a bad one at that. The first clue is the date window magnification. The bezel also look wrong.

From your picture above looking at the "pearl" in the bezel I'm afraid it does not look good.... I'm willing to bet the code in the back of the clasp has the letter D12 and that if you look at the crown from the side that it appears slightly below center to the crown guards! IMHO does not look real...

Turning the bezel will click 2 times per minute so 120 clicks for a full revolution. The numbers on the bezel insert are wrong as well as the font for oyster perpetual. I hope you didn't lose alot of money on this.

I can get the obvious ones, that's no problem! That TT Blue Sub from the other day got me, until you told me what was wrong. I won't make that mistake again. That said, I haven't been posting found items, as I could spend days straight finding fakes on eBay, but I will comment on the fakes when they are posted. I think my big weakness is the Daytonas.

I'm slowly getting there on the good old Daytona, but very slowly

Also the width of the bezel seems a bit small and the minute markers on the dial don't seem right.

Why the sudden influx of posters showing pics of fake Rolex's, do they not read the TRF rules, this one.
5. THIS IS NOT A FORUM FOR THE DISCUSSION OF FAKE WATCHES and your opinion are about FAKE WATCHES and who makes them, sells them, buys them and wears them is NOT welcome.

But there is nothing wrong with someone wanting to check the authenticity of a watch. That's what this guy wanted to do. We told him it's a fake and we move on. Part of the education on this forum is being able to identify the "tells" of fake watches. I consider this one a learning experience for newer members, etc.

Take the watch to an AD, most people who have non authentic Rolex watches pay in the hundreds of dollars for there respective watches, is that not a sign by the price you pay.

My guess is that the majority of people who own non-authentic Rolex watches know that therewatch is not real. I think the OP knew it was fake.

This forum is a great place to exchange information about Rolex watches and it clearly states that it's NOT a forum for the discussion of fake watches.

BTW I did state in my opening paragraph what seemed different about the watch, correct?

Sorry to inform you, but yes it is a fake.

The date magnification is nowhere near close to 2.5X.
The font on the dial is incorrect.
The Pearl is incorrect.
The bezel insert does not seem "Rolex-esque".
The bezel should make 120 clicks around. 2 clicks for each minute marker.
And the rehaut looks quite deep.

Relax, he just wanted to confirm with the experts. It isn;t easy for everyone to just go out to an AD. It is easier for him to ask and post pictures. Plus, we get to educate him on how to prevent a fake purchase in the future. We told him what needed to be said and that's all.

I'm very relaxed and thanks for asking, just a reminder for the newby's. I was not trying to yell just a little cutting and pasteing here.
