Rolex Ambassadors and Their Rolex

Wanted to create a fun thread.

Rolex has a pretty deep rol(od)ex of ambassadors from celebrities, entertainers, and athletes. In some cases, specific models become synonymous with that individual. Say, Jack Nicklaus and his Day-Date, Paul Newman and his Daytona, Tiger Woods and his SD.

Who am I missing, and what do you see as future links between reference and ambassador?

Separately, anyone have any ideas of which model, if any, will be seen as the "Federer?" With him being an ambassador, Swiss, and arguably the most admired athlete of this generation, I'd be curious if there is any logical link to one model in particular. Plus, it's always fun to speculate.

Phil Mickelson and Cellini, which he wore while playing for years. He’s switched to a RG YM in the last year or two.

James Cameron and the DSSD with the dial commentating his super deep dive to the bottom of the ocean.

Anybody remember Bill Cosby wore what looked like a platinum DD36 for years. I doubt he was an Ambassador for the company, but he may have been years ago.

Whenever I think about Federer I remember his win in the 2017 Australian Open with his BLNR. Looks like match made in heaven.

Federer = BLNR

Good call. I've also seen that same reference on him during a handful of interviews.

I almost feel like he should exclusively rock the "Wimbledon" DJ reference

Howdy,

For me, you’ll never top Reinhold Messner and his Explorer 2.

Take care,
