Icon20 small problem..???

hello guys,

i have a small problem.. i was sitting on the bed.. packing some papers and my deepsea was on the bed next to me and for no reason i got off from the bed quickly.. then suddenly i realized that the watch was slipping.. i wasn't able to grab it.. it just happened like a flash so the watch fell on its face. so at that time i was in panic mode.. i didnt want to take it up from the floor i was afraid of what i was going to see. i took it off.. nothing major happened no scratches or whats so ever.. but the small MOP like ball at the 12'oclock position on the ceramic bezel got hit.. there is no like curve shape just flat..so is there is a way i can fix it.. or shall i just leave it like this.. i will post some pics for clarification.. but lets say i want to change this MOP ball shape.. can they do it??

thanx guys but really i am soooo pissed..

Sounds like some good advice! Just have it fixed when it goes in for service.

I'd ether leave it alone, or if you send it to Rolex, they will more then likely give you an entire new bezel.

I have had to replace the "pearl" on numerous Rolex bezel inserts. BUT they were not from a DSSD.
What has happened to your watch is the Sapphire crystal cover over the lume has fallen out. I would suggest that you get down there with a VERY bright light and find it. If you find it, I would think that UV activated clear crystal glue would work to put it back in place.

How do we (or least I) know this stuff... Because lets face it, no matter how clumsy you are there is always someone who has done the SAME THING before you.
I would hope that we are all capable of learning from OUR mistakes. I like to assist others by letting them learn from MY mistakes so they do not make the same ones. Im also fairly good at fixing my mistakes, and when I can I pass that information along also!

My fear with your situation is that the lume material in your DSSD is very different (blue) than any other around. If it is left uncovered it could become damaged also.
AND considering the cost of replacing the bezel, I would gladly get on my hands and knees and look for that tiny tiny tiny little piece of sapphire crystal. If you find it let us know and I can give a couple suggestions on how to repair it yourself so that it will look good as new.

thank u all for ur help and advice.. i think i solved my problem.. what i did is i brushed the pearl and removed all the tiny broken pieces around it because they were everywhere.it looked much more better..but there is no longer the round pearl shape where u can touch it with ur fingers but instead its now flat.. its like the pearl cut in half.. do i have to worry later if its going to fall .. or i am fine now..

Did you actually lose the pearl? Or flatten it? You're talking about the possibility of changing the shape of the pearl, and others are assuming the pearl fell out, at least I think. Pics would definitely help.

Good timing, you posted just as I asked. Sounds like you cracked the top half of the pearl off. I would just wait until the first servicing and ask them to replace it.

It's trashed, send the SDDS plus 40 bucks to me and I'll shoot back an old Casio that I'm no longer wearing.

As I said earlier, the luminous material is covered by a sapphire crystal dome. If the crystal part was broken. I would suggest something as simple as stealing a bottle of your wifes clear finger nail polish and putting an ever so small dot of that over the lume material.
I have used this method to repair small scratches in standard pearls.
You could also use a clear enamel paint like that from a Testors models.
Or you could leave it the way it is. But I would think that getting the actual lume material wet would not be a good idea.
Here is a pic from the tech section...

Speak to RSC I'm sure they'll be sympathetic, I accidentally smashed a Sub bezel up real good & even though not covered by the (way out of date) warranty they replaced it FOC
