Newman vs Bond
Was anyone following Bob's Watches "Fresh Finds: Iconic Watches of Hollywood" surprised at what the 6538 sold for? Just $5,000.00 less than a Newman Daytona.

You forgot the 6542. That and the 6538 are rarer and appear to be in better condition.

I was surprised as well. I don’t often follow prices on these as they are far beyond anything I’ll be able to afford, but was surprised as well especially with all the hype and following around vintage Daytona’s in particular. I know the market for both 6542 and 6538 are very strong but really didn’t realize it was at that level now.
