Milgauss 1019 production history

Do any of you fellow 1019 owners and enthusiasts have any insight into the production history of these. I've been collecting vintage Rolex for about 30 years but there's very little info out there in the books or on the net about production numbers. I searched for a good 1019 for about 10 years before I finally found one last year, when I had the money there were no good ones for sale and when the good ones came up I didn't have the money. Over the years i've done my own research and they seem to have been produced in batches with lots from the late 60's early 70's then nothing until 79 when there seems to be a big batch from 6011xxx to about 6164xxx then nothing but a few "R" serials. I've been told by a few dealers that they ran out of movements during the batch from 6011xxx to 6164xxx and produced a new batch, they had left over movements and a batch of cases was made with "R" serial numbers to use up the movements. My 1019 case was manufactured in 79 but, I assume, not built up until 1989 then sold via a Swiss dealer in 1990. The punched papers are genuine but they were not printed until 89, very strange. I have heard that Rolex built up every 1019 they had left in 89 and shipped them to Swiss dealers as old stock. Another anomaly which seems peculiar to the 1019 is the case engraving, mine has "Stainless Steel" and the serial number at 6 o'clock but just 1019 at 12 o'clock, no "registered design" or "original rolex design" and some i've seen have no "stainless steel" but they do have "registered design" and some have both as normal, its all very odd with very little info out there. Before anyone replies with "fake" I should say my 1019 has just come back from service at Rolex Kings hill. Any insights would be appreciated.

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but my 613xxxx (approx. 1979) 1019 has this:

Between twelve o'clock lugs:

REGISTERED DESIGN
1019

Between six o'clock lugs:

STAINLESS STEEL
61...

I was more interested in production details, there seems to be lots of info out there and specific websites for every variant of Sub, 1016, Daytona, DRSD, GMT etc but very little about the 1019. I guess there just hasn’t been much research into the 1019.
