Installation of Submariner RubberB with Glidelock

After looking at and seriously considering some oysterflex YMs and Daytonas I decided to try this RubberB product and see how it suits me long term before being stuck with a very expensive watch on rubber only.

I'm a huge huge fan of the brushed oyster bracelet so I'm sure this won't last but I have the Daytona on PCL oyster and I'm hoping to alternate between these two for as long as I can.

The RubberB size selection is based on your oyster bracelet link count and includes the solid end link. I chose 6,7 or size L to match my oyster bracelet as shown in the first pic.

Once the buckle was removed from the bracelet I removed the bracelet from the watch head using the horofix tweezers. I taped off the lugs using kapton tape.

I found that the RubberB installed best when I spun the watch head opposite how I would normally install a metal oyster bracelet. The steep, near-90 deg angle of the RubberB necessitated that.

Overall it is a very well made product that fit perfectly and is supremely comfortable when combined with the glidelock clasp.

I don't mind lug scratches on the back either. Keep on swapping!

Looks good.

What I like, versus the Oysterflex, is that this strap doesn’t have those ridges underneath that may add comfort to the Oysterflex but in doing so often make it look like the strap doesn’t fit well.

I’ve been toying with the idea of one of these for my Hulk for a few years but don’t think the colour options (to compliment the Hulk) are too inspiring. It’s a easier mix and match with a Sub or even a Daytona.

Well done, congrats! Oysterflex looks good on the Submariners too; here’s my 16610 on oysterflex style band with smartyjones end links:
