Waiting List
Hi there,
I was wondering, if you have to pay for the watch ahead of time (full or partial amount) when you're on the waiting list for a watch at the AP AD. I'm looking to get a 15450 hopefully in blue! thanks, G |

Seems to vary by boutique/AD. Mine asked for full payment on the first AP. A friend of mine gave 25% on his and this was another boutique.

Once they secured an allocation for me, they required a 25% deposit. I paid the balance when I picked up the watch about a week later.

NYC took a deposit and then 2 months later basically told me they were giving the watch to somebody else. Which, is why I don’t deal with NYC any more :-)
I think generally speaking AP boutiques/ADs are very fair and won’t take your money unless they are very confident they can deliver. Getting a 15450 blue dial as a first watch is pretty rare though, so best of luck. I hope they come through!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Waiting List
I never paid for a watch upfront only on delivery...good luck!
Is it a common thing in the US since it never happened to me in Europe nor in Asia? |

I never say never because there are some success stories out there. But, I think getting a blue dial anything right now is virtually impossible without a pretty established purchase history. That said, if they take a deposit and you’re making it clear you want a blue 15450, that would give some level of optimism. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Taipei boutique asked for 30% deposit, but only after they knew they had an available allocation (15500 grey dial). For the 26237 I paid in advance in full to take advantage of some anniversary promotion of the mall where the boutique is located.
My understanding was that this boutique only takes deposits for watches they are going to deliver. For everything else you can submit your wishlist, but with variable success depending on "relationship" and availability. |
