What are my odds?

I have a good relationship with my AD having just purchased a nice black dial DJ. When I was leaving she asked if there was another Rolex I would be interested in. I said a SS Daytona. So far they have called offering a TT Daytona or YM. Turned both down politely. Here’s the text from today.

That being said I think my odds of picking up a SS Daytona at MSRP is 1/1000. Opinions?

On top of that I received a jury summons today to show up 1/11/21 for jury duty.

What a day.

You always have a chance but slim.

Good luck!

Depends on the AD. If it is a mom and pop one and your SA is the owner, it’s possible as long as you keep the good connection going. But if it’s a big chain AD which goes thru management approval for specialty pieces, probably slim to none as your second piece.

This seems like decent odds to me actually given the back and forth - don't fall off the radar! Good luck

I agree. Trust me, these AD’s get dozens and dozens of calls/emails a week. If they take the time to keep you in the loop via text message then I’d say you have a much better chance than many of scoring a daytona. Good luck!

Lots of visits and chats. Bring coffee. You may pull it off in 2021.

A good AD relationship is key. Check in randomly every few months. That has worked for me with my 116500 White, was also offered the Black 116500, passed & bought a BLNR instead.

I would say the chance is there, but know that there will be others who may get in front of you based on spending, client status, etc. I would check in with them every so often (and if you can, in person) just so you are always in mind if one of the whales can't pick up immediately. Best of luck!
