AP in Tokyo
Hello all. New to this forum. Recently developed a liking for the Royal Oak after seeing my dads 39mm blue dial. Probably too big for me so am considering the 37mm given my small wrists. It’s simply a stunning watch.
I’m relatively clueless about AP and their availability if they have a waitlist. My current watches are a couple of Roles SS models and a langematik perpetual. The Rolex’s I bought at a premium and the Lange from their boutique. I don’t want to pay a premium again for AP and would much appreciate any advice on the purchasing process. Thank you all very much. |

Will be hard to get the 37mm RO without history but not impossible, except blue dial, which is very hard.
Best is to go in person to chat with them and show interest, then take it from there. Don’t just call. There will definitely be a wait regardless. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I believe the waitlists for the 15450 are closed in most (if not all) Tokyo boutiques. This could be due to the model’s popularity (among smaller-wristed locals), or the rather attractive price compared with other markets (and especially the EU ex-Switzerland). Good luck!

Checkout eddie at modernswiss, he has a 37mm blue dial for sale and is brand new, will ship overseas. I use him for a lot of my watches.

Thanks for all the info. I’ll put my name down for an appointment at the Ginza botique. Let’s see if they get in touch. Also thanks for recommending Eddie at Modern Swiss. I’ve been in touch with him on chrono24. Hopefully I get lucky in 2021! Lol

If you’re in the area just walk in if it’s not locked down. I walked in to the Ginza boutique last year with no history and they were great! Osaka boutique wasn’t as friendly.

Went to the Ginza boutique earlier this week and the SA was lovely. Obviously they didn’t have any Royal Oaks in stock to even turn on but they were very professional. Wait list for the 37mm is closed. Now the question is do I buy a ladies Royal Oak for the wife in hope that it’ll get me on a wl for the 15450 or go gray....
