Both are genuine it’s just your feeling, one is full set and surely pricey
And the other one is nice and genuine but no paper... just make your choice with your budget and happy new year

How do you like this MK4 1680 red

The first one (Gerzner) may (!) have an issue on the matt dial, just above the "A" of Submariner. I looked at both watches before...

Please develop... I’m in vintage for 20 years, so I’m sure it’s genuine, I can’t tell you more to convince you
If you think it’s not good, I can’t force you to believe me and I really don’t care

Looks like an oil stain, possibly from a past service.

That's a classic characteristic of a MK IV dial.

The visibilty of this surface defect is viewing angle and light dependent, most likely not a geometrical defect (small hole as I said) but a stain, I agree.

On the same watch ...
What is the origin of these marks? Not the horizontal scratches but the dark spots.

Pitting from moisture. Pretty common, and not too terrible compared to some I have seen. You want to make sure that the case-back sealing surface isn't badly pitted.

Oh yes, that's the stainless steel material aspect of the classic watches, I overlooked that. Thanks for the keyword "pitting".

Before the introduction of 904 L stainless steel, 316 L was used. The 904 L has an increased corrosion resistance and is less prone to pitting than the old cases, point taken.

It is, even without removing hands. But I wouldn't trust just about any Watchmaker for that, though. Faut faire attention.

Addendum (to #27) on 904 L stainless steel

"Rolex’s steel watches are manufactured from Rolex’s own 904L alloy, known as "Oystersteel” from 2018. Most commonly used in high-technology and in the aerospace and chemical industries, 904L steels are comparable to precious metals for their anti-corrosion properties and acquire an exceptional sheen once polished. In 1985, Rolex became the first watchmaking brand to use this steel from the 904L family for its cases."
