3135 Sweeping Seconds? How smooth is smooth?

So here's a questions for all the Rolex owner. I keep reading all over the place that the Rolex 3135 movement is suppose to have 28,800 bph which means that there should be about 8 beat or ticks per second right? Well I'm not seeing it or are my eyes deceiving me. I have a Yachtmaster M Series which has the 3135 movement and I'm trying really hard to see the tick in between each second I can only count up to about 5. Anyone out there seeing what I'm seeing or noth seeing I haven't compared it to the other watches yet but I plan to the next time I get to a Rolex store.

As you get older your eyes get slower.

Seriously, the eye finds it difficult to see 8 beats/sec.
Trust me, the 3135 runs at 8/sec, if it only ran at 5 it would be loosing 22.5 minutes every hour.

Nearly all watches today and most Swiss brands have the 28,800 bph movements.Except a few who have high beat movements like the Zenith El-Pmimo 36000 bph.If you bought your watch from a reliable source you have nothing to worry about. Just wear and enjoy your watch for the next 30 plus years. With any 28.800 bps movement its not a perfect smooth tick and very difficult to count the beats. But in 24 hours, the movement escapement pushes the gears 432,000 times.

One way to catch this is to set your camera exposure.

When the picture is taken you should see every tick of the beats per second on the pic

For a one second exposure you should be able to count out 8 second hands. I am no camera expert but some pictures you can spot it out.

It's really hard to count something that happens 8 times a second. What I do is listen to the watch, and count pairs, I can count 4 pairs (tick-tock's) per second.
