Next year Panerai might learn????
We we have seen the release of the 312 this year.
It is in stainless steel. So what is the bet that next year that model will be released in Titanium? I hear some differing opinions of the comfort factor of the 312 and I just wonder if in all the circumstances if it had been made in 47mm rather than 44mm, it might have just been a little more proportional.... One has to remember that the 312 is thicker than the DEEPSEA so if one spreads that over a wider area is it not going to be more stable and comfortable given the wider surface are in contact with ones wrist? Remember the 127 is one of the most popular watches in the history of Panerai, and I don't see anyone asking for smaller sizes to be made, so in regard to the foregoing I think that making the 312 in 44mm was a mistake. If the movement was flatter then fine make it in 44mm. However given the thickness of the movement 47mm is the right course to go IMHO ![]()

I've tried it on and it fits just fine compared to my 233, i switched between the two a couple of times and i honestly couldn't see a huge different in the way it sat and looked on the wrist. I think Panerai get away with it a little more than the DSSD due to the watch looking a bit more proportional due to the strap and also with the way that the 1950s case seems to sink into the wrist a little.
At 18mm it is quite a thick beast on the wrist, especially as it doesn't have the domed crystal, but it does actually work which i was surprised about, but i do agree that a 47mm would be good as well, the 305 submersible is coming out this year as well and that's 47mm with the P9000 movement, it should give us an idea if it works better. The DSSD really needed a little bit more substance with the bracelet, another 2mm and i think it would look better, it's not actually that bad on the wrist either, but Rolex have had a harder time justifying the changes as they were so drastic compared to the SD.

Well I have to admit I have not tried on the 312 so I'm only speaking from impression.
I am looking forward to future releases in Titanium, because I think the 312 is definitely a step in the right direction and price point. ![]()

Steve,I have had quite a few PAMs,including a 203 and a 127, on the wrist and the single best casing IMO,is the 1950s 47mm !!
