Looks like a CK 2048
As for approx price: USD 18,750 sold https://www.christies.com/lot/lot-om...jectID=6003234 USD 27,960 asking https://www.chrono24.com/omega/1939-...id16828644.htm But these older chronographs vary a lot depending on conditions. |

Lets, put it this way. I have been collecting for 30 years, I personally have owned, probably 200+ vintage Omegas, gone to watch shows and auctions, and I have never seen that model in person.
The dial looks to be original, the case is in excellent condition. That is a very nice watch. On the 2 watches listed above, the Christies photo appears to be photo shopped. So who knows what condition the watch was really in. The second watch has the same reference but a different pusher set up. Was it modified? Ones this early it is hard to know. The watch companies were not as consistent as seem people like to believe when you get back to the 40's and before. I will agree with Christie's statement about the watch: " It is an exceptional opportunity for a collector to acquire one of the most iconic and rarest chronographs in OMEGA’s history. Congratulations, the watch is beautiful.
The bracelet is not at the same level, you can take it out if you want, and dress the chrono with a new band. Wondering what an Omega Boutique would say about the piece! I believe they have a service that provides formal identification and authenticity of the reference. |
