DD and Sky Dweller RG... Roman and Arabic

I think the Roman and Arabic numerals look great on some Rolex references, including these two. They give a boost to the character of the watch. Don't really understand why Rolex no longer uses them for the new SkyD but only index markers instead. Anyone who also like them?

Arabic numerals on the Sky-Dweller are a bit much. If the GMT complication was centered and the "5", "6", and "7" weren't squeezed down it might pass. Otherwise it looks way too busy.

I can understand that is not for everyone. For me, the Roman and Arabic numerals actually help balance out the GMT ring, and they match the complicated nature of the SkyD. Rolex did an intuitive job in having the Roman/Arabic numbers as indicators of the months,

Big fan of Romans here. Legibility is really poor if compared with the new Rhodium stick dial.
This for me is a non issue because I like to look at the dial figuring out what time it is

Amazing. I saw this same SkyD in person recent and wow it was just so gorgeous. Seems the RG Chocolate dial is the most sought after PM SkyD right now.

Look great. I agree legibility is not an issue here

Chocolate really goes well with RG imho. Very attractive colour. Brown/tropical/chocolate dials or subrings are also desirable features of vintage Rolex watches.

Have you had it on strap? I tried both versions and really like the bracelet but it was at least 15k more than the strap, crazy. I was told it's not possible to put a bracelet on the strap version.

I too like the arabic version of the dial, on either the black or the rose gold versions.

The WG black dial looks great and I find it also wears smaller on wrist.

I've yet tried it on strap. Wear the watch on occasions and as part of my collection and mostly daily a SS. Price of PM Rolex has gone insane recently but I also think it is about demand and supply. I got mine before the current situation and was also puzzled with the price gap between bracelet and strap, but in the end I went with this which I thought would be better choice in the long run, and I'm glad I did.

The old Skydweller dial were the best!! I have no idea why they moved them all to sticks.

Never ever sell that Arabic Chocolate dial SkyD. Mine says hello.

The only stick dial that looks good is the Rhodium dial. They should have kept the romains/arabics at least on the PM versions IMHO

That's a gorgeous Sundust dial. The roman/arabic numerals look like floating on the dials. Such an interesting effect. I've never feel bored with my SkyD.

Great choice. I have been looking for one for sometime now but the current market makes it increasingly more difficult.

Tell me about it. I bought mine for $34k USD brand new in box. Now a full RG on bracelet is like $55k USD.

Crazy.

Sound about right. My grey just sold one from 2015 for about $57 (74k AUD). I also checked C24 a few days ago there were about 20 listed the lowest priced $52 already reserved, another reserved at $59, the rest ranged from 57 to almost 70. Yes insane.
