Icon7 A History of Watches Worn by America's Presidents

This is an Interesting Read...

I wonder who will be the first to wear an Apple watch?

"With the swearing-in of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States of America, many watch enthusiasts couldn’t help but be curious as to what was on his wrist. A closer look revealed that the Royal-Blue dial belonged to Rolex‘s current Datejust model with a comfortable Jubilee bracelet — surprisingly with a smooth bezel rather than the usual fluted version.

While the old adage says “you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes,” we believe the same can be said about their choice of watch. We take a trip down memory lane to examine some of the wristwatches on the more prominent presidents that have their names closely tied to more luxurious timepieces. Starting from the current president, Joseph Biden, we’re taking it back to 1961 to revisit some of the low-key watch collectors that have graced the Oval Office..."

I have seen like 4 different threads all about Biden's watch. Why is this receiving so much attention?

Perhaps a novelty having a president who can tell the time!?

This article is about Presidents and their watches. This is like a Watch Forum.

IBTL. I don't know why but all those threads keep getting locked and removed. Even though it is not political. Yes, he's a politician, which is why everyone is interested in this, but simply saying oh, guys look, he is wearing a DJ isn't a political topic. It doesn't positively or negatively imply anything about him as a politician.

TRUTH! This one especially... It is About Presidents In America and the watches they have worn. I find it interesting the watches they choose to wear. I wish they told us more about why and how they ending up getting them too.

Please don't make unnecessary comments here and get this thread locked!

I was also wondering why all the other threads were being locked. I don't think this is political in the slightest, I'm just tired of seeing the same thread get posted over and over.

Just because some how to put it politely... person is being an idiot, doesn't mean that the whole thread should be locked and removed.

Well, as long as the comments aren't political or making comments about the suitability of the person for office, the thread will stay open is my guess. It just goes back to the TRF rules of no postings about politics.

During the campaign Biden wore an Omega. Nice to see he upgraded to a Rolex. I believe Reagan was the last President to wear a Rolex (a Datejust) while in the White House.

Obama wore a pretty cool watch that was sold in the Secret Service store. It is a pretty cool looking watch.. I almost bought one from the store but they were out when I went to get it.

I think he also wore a Tag off and on.
