Omega Tokyo Olympics
Do you think the Tokyo Olympic watches will go up in value if there are no Olympics?

I’d say no. Less desirable to me

Kind makes me wonder if Omega will come out with a new addition to actually commemorate when the Olympics actually happen again. I would be down with that, a piece that celebrates some return to normal.

Regardless of value going up or down and regardless of holding the olympics or not, they are beautiful examples imho
Especially the panda and the red bezel!

Potentially yes. If they appeal to collectors.

It's beautiful model, and for the collectors, it will always have appeal. Hopefully it goes up.

I think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if people look at the number 2020 as being very unlucky.

I saw this already with just the box sets that were listed on eBay. Collectors could potentially go crazy for this due to the historical significants, especially if the games get cancelled which remains in the realm of possibility.

I really could care less about the value since the 3 stainless are perfect for my collection. What I find interesting is the mention of how bad 2020 is etc.... I had my share of serious issues last year personally and professionally yet I still look at it as a calling for change/make you better. Same mindset I view defeat and disappointment, just part of the process of making you better.. And guess what? I think it also resonates with themes of human triumph with the Olympics. If anything it should serve as an important reminder of how 2020 played out due to division vs unity and the lesson the world should have learned.... But I digress.....
Really beautiful watches all 3. Overall better than the Gemini 4 and Apollo 11 35th and that's why I moved those on and kept the Olympics. Once again very personal as with all perception, but I want to remember 2020 and how it's just another stage/moment in life I'll look back on that I learned from. |

Just depends if enough greys can get together to fix the pricing to artificially drive demand

Yea either way I think it could be the black sheep of collectibles because it commemorates something that never happened

I read on the internet that one of them will skyrocket and be the next Snoopy.
The internet didn't say which one though, sorry.
