Incoming B1

Thank you to all who provided advice and suggestions in my prior thread seeking help finding an analog+digital Breitling to give as a gift.

I managed to find an unworn old stock Breitling B1 and I must say it looks fantastic. No previous owners, old stock at a former dealer. Feels incredibly well built with great attention to detail, and the digital functions are very cool. It has no signs of wear apart from what would develop from being in a case and tried on over the past 10-15 years, and still has stickers on the clasp. I’m not sure how this exists, but it is going to be the perfect gift.

I’ve sent it away to Breitling for a movement and gasket check (and to add on some warranty before gifting it). While the watch came with original box and most of the original papers, the box is old and coming apart a bit. I’ve asked Breitling if they’ll allow me to buy a new box/case even if it doesn’t match the original for gifting purposes. I’m also missing the B1 instruction manual for all the digital functions, so I’ve asked Breitling to see if they can find an original hard copy for me. There appear to be some scanned PDF versions online that will work if necessary, but it would be really nice to have a hard copy. If anyone has any advice on where to source one, it would be most appreciated!

All in all, it’s a beautiful reference.

Great find! That’s a great looking watch. Did they agree to make you a complete set with boxes and manuals? If so, that’s awesome.

A lovely piece, indeed! Congrats on this classic! Any shots of the display in the dark? Enjoy in good health!

Thanks all. An update:

Getting a full service on it, mostly to oil the movement since it’s been idle for 15 years. Also getting a new box from Breitling. Not original to the watch, but one of the modern boxes. Really happy about that. The search for a B-1 manual continues, however. Breitling does not have any physical copies, but they may have a PDF they can send.

No problem. Took me a while to get a good photo, but this one does it justice. It’s super cool.

I got the watch back from Breitling, all good for many years more of ownership. I was also able to get a new box/case from Breitling and the original instruction manual PDF. So we have a full set, ready for gifting
