Vintage Submariner: is this normal?
I visited a shop w vintage submariners and a double red sea-dweller. When I tried the bezel, it did not turn smoothly, it got stuck and it didn’t have the nice crunchy click noise. Is that normal with older Rolex watches?

Older Rolex are on a tension washer, no clicks. Shouldn't get stuck.

Older Submariner bezels (pre-16800) are bi-directional and friction fit, with no clicks. You push down on the bezel and it should turn freely with no sound. I'd wager the one you tried had years' worth of dirt trapped underneath it.

My 16750 was once like that. Just needs a good service and cleaning. As others have said as well, no clicks
