15500 Cleaning

I just received my new 15500 black yesterday and was wondering, given the 50m WR and finishing/scratch magnet comments I have read, can I clean like my Rolexes? For those, I just rinse well under the tap and dry with a towel. Will the running tap risk moisture intrusion, and drying with a regular towel risk scratches, or can I treat like my Rolexes?

I've always used lens cleaning wipes (made for eye/sunglasses) on my watches.

I buy them in bulk lol on Amazon - Zeiss wipes.

I wouldn't worry about water intrusion from a faucet - make sure the crown is secure and you should be good. I'd be more concerned about the finishing when wiping with towels/clothes etc. Perhaps a micro-fiber cloth would be best.

Failing to correctly maintain that watch should be a criminal offence!

AP say you can swim with it on, I wouldn’t swim with a Royal Oak personally but I wouldn’t think twice about giving it a good clean in a bowl of water.

I have a 15450 and wash it just like my Rolex watches. No issues.

A lots of people use WristClean for cleaning.

For me, I think if the watch has a lots of dust on, it's better to rinse with water first to get rid of the dust, after that you can use dish washer liquid mix with water to get all the dirt and grime out, rise with water again and air dry or use paper towel absorb all the extra water out and use microfiber cloth to polish it.

I use a car shampoo (Zaino) and soft bristle toothbrush, wet it first and then get it lathered up and rinse under the tap and wipe dry with a soft microfiber cloth, looks sparkling after this. This is the method I use on all my watches with great results.

It's the drying process that can cause micro scratches. Either air dry or pat dry worst case. Never wipe.
