What is ‘AN’ series?

Hi

I was not able to find on this site nor via Google any reference to this, but have seen a couple of Rolex watches listed as ‘AN series’. Anyone know a resource that shows this pls?

Thank you

There are A and N serials per se on the old nomenclature. Imagine there could be random serials staring with “AND”

Can you show the listings stating the serial number begins with AN?

The possibility is a Random s/n - but the odds of two or more coming up for sale within the same timeframe is very rare.

The other possibility is a fakir has begun a series of midcases with AN as leading s/n on rehaut.

AN.. Alpha Numeric (random numbers and letters)

However, it is poorly worded. Rolex doesn't make a "series" of anything, that's BMW. They likely mean AN serial.

Glad you posted the listings - I was too literal in thinking the leading characters were “AN”.

Peter and Larry have explained it splendidly.

I think an Alpha Numeric Series ID is still a more accurate description than an Alpha Numeric ‘Serial’ ID.

But there are random serial numbers so go figure.
