Zenith Chronomaster Incoming Goodness
After having called 3 different ADs, one of which I have a minor history with, and being told “We’ll add you to the waitlist.”……for a Zenith. Uh, no thanks. I figured I would check Zenith direct. The watch was listed as available on their web site and that’s when the fun began. At the checkout process I kept getting some weirdo Amex splash page popup that basically froze the order until it eventually timed out and cancelled. I must have called Zenith no less than 8 times and Amex 4-5, each blaming the other. The rep from Zenith finally just told me to use another credit card, I told no, I want to use my Amex and she said there is nothing they can do for me…. Neat. I just happened to load up DavidSw.com and sure enough he just received one, fully stickered. One phone call at 5:05pm EST yesterday and it was in that night’s FedEx run and on my wrist by lunch today. Done and done!
This thing is really slick, the 1/10th chrono is most definitely unique. Give me a few days with it and I will try to get some better commentary. 1st impression? It’s awesome, go get one, only don’t use your Amex with Zenith. I hope their watches run better than their web site. Also included is a photo next to my 11 Sub Date as a visual reference. |

That’s a beauty- many congrats and wear in the best of health. I particularly like how the date background matches the dial - works well in this case.

Been thinking about picking up the black. I think it’s sharp and the better looking of the two.

I must admit, the recent offerings from Zenith are killing it. The movements are out of this world.

Currently waiting on the white dial version. Thanks for the comparison pic as that tells me a lot about its wrist presence.
Looks great! Congrats! |

Waiting for my white dial version coming in May. Paid deposit with my AD already.
How does it wear compared to a Sub? |

Very nice - congrats! I think they made a smart move here - tap into a market that has huge demand due to lack of availability of the Daytona. Add a strap option and exhibition case back - I like it!

Looks good. How's the bracelet - is it micro-adjustable on the fly without tools like (e.g.) the modern rolexes ?

The bracelet is fairly decent. It is light. The overall build quality of the clasp, in my opinion, is beneath the watch as a whole. It is polished nicely, but seems a bit to thin, which adds cheap feeling. For sure, that is specific only to the actual clasp mechanism. Everything else, 1 day in, is really nice. So far, I can highly recommend this watch. |

Its a great looking watch OP, Congrats!! Wear it in good health.
I just cant get past the date window on a 3 sub dial chrono and that oscillating weight is atrocious. If it werent for those faults IMO then I would probably own one already.

I know a lot of folks aren't fond of the date window location, but can you explain what is the problem with the oscillating weight???

I happen to like the date window here since it’s color matched. Blends in - if it were white, different story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is an example of what I was talking about at the six position. Just a different way of doing it.

OK I see. Yeah I could take or leave the actual star, but what I REALLY like about the rotor is you can see through it. Allows a much better view of that incredible movement. Wish other companies would develop weights that you can see underneath of. Annoys me that most see through case backs you can only see half the movement at a time with the rotor obscuring the rest.
This is a really neat looking movement! |

Does anything really compare to the oyster??? It’s close...very comfortable. The clasp is decent, and the multiple microadjusts, while you need a tool, allow for a great fit. I would say the major difference I’ve noticed is the locking mechanism of the clasp. Where the Rolex has a satisfying flip lock click, this one has a harder initial lock but softer flip lock, if that makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
