Uncle Seiko bracelet for 1675/5513
I have recently endured an AD's complete BS on buying a couple of bracelets I decided on an alternative route. My question is has anybody fitted aUncle Seiko BOR to a Rolex case by fettling the US end links ?
If so which US bracelet did you use ? I have asked US, they had no idea. Thanks in advance. |

What is an uncle seiko? Is that a fake seiko band?
Why would you put a fake band on a nice watch like that? Just get a nato is the price is offputting. Or fix what you have |

Nah, don't put a Seiko bracelet on a Rolex. That's just wrong.
There are better solutions. Go to a different AD, or buy from one of the respected sellers on this forum. |

I’ve used an Uncle Seiko tropic before with success. Pretty cool actually. But a metal bracelet? I don’t see how that would work with the end links. The cases are too specific. Strapcode does make an oyster and a jubilee bracelet for the 1680, which should also work on a 5513. But don’t tell the guys here. They’ll eat you alive!

Have you ever owned a nice old sub or gmt that had small springbars installed, or loose endlinks? Bye bye to the serial number. The springbar makes the lug hole huge over time. The inner edge of the endlink also gets worn and damaged. I’m not being critical as a snob or a purist, but a badly fitted band damages the watch

Agreed. I should say I don’t have any experience with those Strapcode bracelets. Just pointing out that they exist and I like their Seiko offerings (which I do have experience with). I’m not sure what the solid end links would do to the case over time though. I think someone here said he puts electrical tape on the case engravings to protect them... |

Much as I like the Seiko mod stuff I would not do this to any Rolex watch head.

The tropic bands look way cool . . . I'm thinking of adding one to my Explorer.

Not An answer to your specific question, but just adding a reference to the quality and fit of US bracelets on the watches for which they were created. I’ve put the US President style bracelet on a modern Turtle, and the fit was perfect - better than OEM. I’ve also used the US 1171/633 clone for several months on my vintage Speedy while waiting on a new 1171/633 from Omega. Again, fit was perfect. Same as the OEM when it finally arrived.
The above said, not sure I would trust my own filing of the US end links to be a good enough match to not scratch up a valuable watch. |

I've got an Uncle Seiko 1171 repro on my Speedmaster Pro, but it was specifically designed for the watch. Fantastic bracelet, better than OEM IMO.
