Maxi or Standard dial...vote now!!

I guess it's time for yet another poll!!

With all the recent hype about the maxi dial as compared with the standard dial, which dial do you honestly prefer? The original standard or the maxi dial?

Personally, I think on certain models like the YM and new GMT-II, the maxi dial does look good. However, I don't think I'd ever like to see any of the SUBs (and that includes the TT and YG versions) as also the SD ever go to the maxi dial. That would completely ruin the authenticity and originality of those all time classics.

Standard and maxi....side by side!!

Standard dial. To me, the maxi makes the dial look crowded and smaller somehow.

It's always hard to beat an original and this is no exception. My vote's for the standard dial!

likewise prefer the satndard dials, as dials look too crowded maxi.. hope that RSC dont start changing our regular dials for maxi ones when they service the watch!

Well,...guess I'll be in the monority on this one. LOL!
Maxi-Dial all the way. The whole purpose of a "professional" series watch is useability in less than ideal conditions. The maxi-dial with it's larger indices and increased luminosity allows this.
The Maxi, in my view, harkens back to the days of the "tool watch" concept.

With my ageing eyes, I'll have to go for the maxi.

Yes, but since there is "more stuff" on the same dial, it looks crowded and gives the illusion of a smaller dial. All of this IMHO, of course!

I read somewhere that the new GMT's were larger, thicker and 12% heavier.

The larger dial markers are with the wider section minute are clearer and easier to readily determine the time than the small dot dial.

However, there may be some dainty kind of guys who prefer the more delicate style of small dots.

MAXI by far. It is what is making me lean towards the GMT II over the SD.

I much prefer the maxi on a Sub.... it looks like the original again - the way it's 'sposed to be

My LV never leaves my wrist these days.... the poor old "small dial" ND-Sub hasn't been out of the drawer since March! Come to think of it, I'd better make sure it's still there

my take on this is if you are a heavy kinda person you need maxi but, for the normal day standard is fine....

Oh your talking about dials..... well now to me the maxi seems to take up alot of dial space. I like the standard look per say. :o)

I vote for "mini". I think the maxi somehow takes away from all that beautiful black laquer!

You know, you can take care of all that excess writing on the dial by getting a 14060M

Yep: the 14060M is great.... 'cept Veronica has just suggested that mine should go to my 15yr old daughter 'cos I'd forgotten mine for so long. Not a bad idea actually... it looks better on her than it does on me and undelines the fact that I look better with a maxi (even though I'm definately not a maxi guy!!! )

That means that in the last year I've given away 3 Rollies to my 3 kids. That must mean that I'm due a spending spree on me

I havn't decided which one looks better. However I must say the dial size has to match the bezel. For example the numbers on the YM bezel is also bigger to match the MAXI dial. On the sub, the bezel numbers match the dial. I think they both look good if the bezel matches the dial.

I kept looking at the pics. I think the maxi dial/bezel makes the watch look bigger than it is.

I think it all comes down to if you feel the sub is big enough for you. Some folks are into big watches and I think a maxi dial/bezel would be a good way to make the watch feel bigger.

I think my personal preference would be maxi dial/bezel on the YM and the standard dial/bezel on the sub. :)
