Sorry but I can't see the photo.
What I can say is the 1675 model GMT is a really great vintage watch, so you are really fortunate to own that one ![]()

The 1675 was my first Rolex and holds a special place for me.
Try posting a photo again, and welcome. ![]() |

Yes, I can see your watch now.
![]() The gilt dial and the jubilee bracelet are great ![]() Looks like a professionally performed polish to the watch (including the crystal) would have it looking like new. ![]() There is a place in Hong Kong that will retention your jubilee and make it look like almost new for about $500. That's a lot less than the cost of a new bracelet. ![]()

Thank you for your advise. I live in USA and have a hard time imagining shiping the bracelet to Hong Kong. One of my favorite Rolexes (the first one) was an original stainless steal bubleback with half roman and half Arabic numbers..totally original.
I gave it to be serviced to the "top" wachmaker downtown and when I got it back it did not have the original face and hands. Mind you I never asked them to touch any of cosmetics..I wanted the wach to be lubed...So after that upsetting fiasco and the owner lying straight to my face I will not send any of my watches to anybody. Have an original Vacheron from 1950's and lost the crown on it but cannot sent it for another crown..hate to be taken advantage of..and being disapointed with 'profesionals'. Thank you kindly for your post and advise. |

There are a couple of other options and you could approach a couple of members here "Dalton" and/or "bobridley" to see if they can assist you. These guys understand the issue of maintaining the vintage integrity of the watch and have a lot of happy Rolex owners here on the forum.
It sure is sad when a repairer does thinks without your knowledge and approval ![]() Hi TIMEPIECE welcome and I hope you enjoy the forums ![]()

Hi Rolexsat
Shame about the bubble back dial. If it was not an original, Rolex has a policy of changing the dial to the original. Not sure if this was the case. I agree with Steve the GMT does need a professional polish. It will look great when you have it done. |

My watch before being given to the watchmaker had everything original on it and the face looked perfect so did the hands (Mercedes hand). When I came to pick it up the hands (phosphorus) was damaged and parts missing and the whole face was replaced by another face that was not perfect like mine original face. I took the watch to the retired watchmaker who sold me the watch and he immediately said - This is not the watch I sold you.. what happened? Anyway - the sad story..from Portland OR..The watchmaker was Silver Hammer..on Bropadway downtown Portland..Hope he is not in business.. Last edited by Rolexsat; 19 May 2009 at 03:32 PM..
