Daytona 116500LN: White or Black dial to complement my black dial Exp II?

Absolutely love and adore my black dial 216570 Exp II and may have an opportunity to get a 116500 LN Daytona through my AD - they asked: white or black dial, and I am torn?! Push comes to shove, I will buy either, however, IF there is a choice, I want to explore it.

If you have an Exp II along with a Daytona, I would like to see side/side comparison and your thoughts feelings on the combo you have and if you would change it.

Having more of a naturally "tan" complexion, as a preference, I did not care for the polar Exp II, but I don't feel that way looking at the white dial Daytona nor would I hesitate to wear it.

You’re in a good spot! Just have to choose.

Personally, I prefer the black, but with your black Explorer II, I would go white Daytona.

Good luck.

Get the one you like best, not just the most popular. I’ve had both black and white Daytonas of the previous references and chose black for my ceramic. Just because I prefer it.

Go with you gut instinct, don’t overthink it. Ask yourself, which would I prefer if I had no other watches. Buy that one

I had the same decision 2.5 years ago and went black. Never regretted it for a second

I went back and forth, but in the end, the white was offered and I grabbed it.

The black dial just seemed to wear smaller on my wrist on an already smallish watch compared to divers like my SD43.

Good luck!

You need to see the watch in person to decide which is best for you... its gonna swing overwhelmingly to the white dial based on the poll but ultimately you will find what suits you better! Good luck and congratulations in advance!

I'd go with white if they were both being offered at the same time. But would take the first one offered to me.

I have had both.
Black is badass and looks great on the wrist.
White, not so much.

I have the Polar Exp 2, therefore I'd lean towards Black Daytona. Regardless, I think Black Daytona feels a bit more suitable for a smart casual, dressy occasions if you like, whereas I tend to associate white one with more sporty outfits. But then again, I'd like to wear pure black in such occasions, hence my potential bias towards the black one. Just completes the look better imho. In any case, nice problem to have mate.. :)

My vote is for the black dial.

It flies under the radar better than the white, if that’s important to you.

Both are good, take the one that comes first.

If both of them are ready for you to pick, takes the one you like the most.

For me I like white more than black.

I appreciate all the input and good point being made about both. Given the choice, as I tend to go for a more understated look, I am leaning towards the black dial at this time. I asked the AD if they happen to have both, I would try both on and make a choice after that - but that's a BIG if.
However, as I said earlier, if push comes to shove and I will go with either, though preference at this point would be black dial!
Now waiting for the call :D

I have and adore the white dial DaytonaC. That said, I’ve never tried on a black one. It’s a phenomenal watch and you can’t go wrong with either dial color.

Congrats in advance.

Daytona 116500LN: White or Black dial to complement my black dial Exp II?

If you are going to make it a safe Queen ... get the white because of its higher perceived value.

If you are going to wear it, get the color you like.

I have tried white dialed watches but they just are not for me. I just prefer black dialed watches. Last summer I owned (then flipped)? The Omega Great White which has a similar black ceramic/white dial “look” the white Daytona.

For me, the black Daytona is one I wear. I truly love this watch. And the black dial (for me) could be a perfect single watch.

Sounds like you made your decision, as long as the AD doesn't make it for you first.

It may depend if what kind of collector you will be, if that's a goal/priority. If you're a monochromatic kind of person, you have your answer, and if you're a change it up kind of person, you have your answer. All depends on your tendencies.

I have a couple of PM, and a couple of SS for different looks. Chacun a son gout.

I'm sure you won't make a wrong decision, and if you're going to be a big collector, you'll probably end up with both!

Enjoy either way!

i voted black. That said if you have a chance to scoop up a white dial from an AD, it'd be really difficult to turn down.

That said, I've always said we choose watches dependent on if it's a one and only or for a collection. I personally find the black dial to be more versatile. It's obviously sporty, but IMO is a much dressier watch than the white dial. Since you have the EX2, that clearly fills a "sport watch" slot. So to mix in some versatility, i'd go for black.

One other factor to consider, is that the black dial appears smaller on the wrist (to my eye). If you have a 42mm Ex2, you can clearly handle a bigger watch. If you prefer watches that appear bigger, you might want to push for the white dial.

Confused? lol. good luck!
