Discontinued?

Hi guys

So my Ad said thiers a chance that some models on the Daytona oysterflex will be discontinued this year or definitely by next year as it’s moved it towards the sky dweller and we might see it in the submariner but who knows but he said some models will go max by next year as its 5 year cycle needs to be refreshed maybe new faces !!

We'll know when we know. I think the Daytona will be upgraded this year so technically older models will be discontinued but we will see similar updated versions in the lineup.

Doubtful your AD really knows, but it's a quick way to start a new TRF thread.

ADs don't have inside information typically. But there are an ungodly number of variations of the Daytona that are completely unjustified considering how many the dealers actually get in. At this point, I'm willing to bet that most ADs have never taken delivery of MOST daytona variants.

My AD said the Daytona OysterFlex has been discontinued because rubber has been banned in either California or the United States — he can’t remember which one.

Most of the YTers are saying the gold and/or platinum Daytona are getting the axe, the Explorer II will be upgraded to a ceramic bezel and Explorer I may be d/c’d. Didn’t hear anything specific about Oysterflex Daytona models, though some are saying they may update the whole line. We’ll find out in a week I guess.

Even though I can’t afford it, I was honestly thinking of buying the gold green dial for the cheapest price I could find it and flipping it after April 7.

I have a premonition the 116508 as a whole is getting discontinued in order to go to a full line of ceramic bezel Daytona's. Similar to the 116520, metal bezeled style will be obsoleted. Being replaced by the likes of models like the 116500 and OF. But as we all know, who knows!
