15500’s calendar dial
Hello everyone! I would like to get your opinions.
This is my first mechanical watch. I am very confused by the calendar dial that turns like this. Starting at 16:30 each day, the calendar dial slowly turns anti-clockwise, reaching its extreme position at around 18:20. At this point, the topmost part of the numerals in the calendar dial is obscured by the calendar window. The dial jumps back to its correct position at around 18:23. Is this normal? I am not quite sure I understand your question. If you are talking about the date window, the date window should change to the next date at midnight just like every other brands.
You should set the date and time according to the manual. If it doesn't work, take your watch to AD and let them set it for you. If something goes wrong, let AD send it to APSC.

My new 15500 purchased from the boutique does the same thing. I am fortunate to live near APSC and took it in a couple of weeks ago, showed pictures, we advanced hands and date and consulted with their main watchmaker and they told me it is nothing to worry about. They said they’d have to service if I wanted it fixed, but it was optional. Since it was new and I did not want to part with for several weeks and it is not doing any damage, I just left it as is. They did say to bring it back if it got worse.

i'd get it serviced.... eventually of course. Perhaps wait until the warranty is near expiring to get it fixed so you get a 'free' service from AP due to their manufacturing defect.

Thank you all for your advice and sharing the same encounter.
I've contacted AP Boutique and I'll give an update on AP's advice after our meeting on Saturday. Take care you all! |

Returned the watch to AP boutique for service on April 3.
Collected the watch today, May 5. Service description: "Complete maintenance service”. Perfect now. |
