Omega 3210.50.00
I was wondering if anyone could tell me a time period when the omega 3210.50.00 Speedmaster cal.1164 was made? I am interested in buying one from a friend and would like a general idea on how old it is and if it is a good watch/movement. Any information would be appreciated. I intend to possibly wear this as a daily beater.

It's a nice watch, Wayne. For some of the older Omega watches, from 2000 onwards I had some issues in the past trying to locate resources for production runs / dates.
I'm sure someone might know around here but unfortunately I don't. From omegawatches.com If you've got the chance to get one at a decent price I would go for it. |

On one of the cards is dated 2011. so it's 10 years old but seems to run fine. There asking $1800. and I would probably send it for servicing. My AD said around $850 ish. It's mint- no scratches at all. So about $2650 total cost. Seem like a reasonable price you think?

If you love the watch I say do it. Have you seen it in person yet? Maybe make it conditional on that but for an Omega Chronograph, as a full set basically, in such great shape it's worth getting and servicing. You'll enjoy this watch for life as I'm sure you most likely wouldn't sell.
A quick eBay search showed me results over the price you're getting, even with your service included. In your shoes I would totally get it. |

Yes, I seen it. It is as advertised. I timed it with my phone app. Showing a clean line and about +2 SPD. The pushers are a bit stiff. Like a snap if you will when depressed. Reminds me of a 7750 movement. and the dial layout is the same as a 7750. I don't know if the 1164 is one or not.
The back has this circle made into the center. The inner edge of this circle is a bit sharp. Little worried that it may irritate my wrist as it's prominent. The watch seems 40mm ish in diameter. Band is also minty. So I may get it. thanks for your input Rommel. It's appreciated as always.

Not a problem, Wayne! Worst case scenario - don't service it right away, wear it for a month or so daily to see how it feels on the wrist. If you can't manage just list it for sale and at the price you're buying it for you stand to lose very little if any at all.

Okay, I got it and picked up seamaster 300m chronograph while I was at my AD. I couldn't help it!

Oh wow! Huge congrats here, Wayne!! I've actually been considering that version of the Seamaster Chronograph as well. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts as ownership progresses. If it doesn't truly speak to me as they say I'll hold off and put the funds towards the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore.
If it's not broken, don't fix it. With those accuracy results I would be happy unless you have major concerns with gaskets I would leave it as is for now, as aforementioned. The Seamaster and Breitling are your watches to wear in water anyway. Looking forward to more pictures of both! Very happy for you! |

Congrats, that was my first mechanical watch. I bought mine on a strap for slightly over 2,000 but recently serviced, so I think you paid a fair price.

Thank you all. I wore the seamaster all day and all night. Still have it on. It's a very nice, well made watch.
