Question for all 41mm Submariner is owners:
I've been on the waiting list for the new Kermit, AD informed me that he's quite hopeful the watch will arrive before Summer.
I've been researching the watch and viewed several review videos on the new Sub. I love it, I truly love it but cannot get over how massive that clasp and bracelet appear in videos at least. How does the watch wear in comparison to the previous model? Does the clasp feel out of proportion on your wrist at all? I'm just very curious to hear your thoughts on the bracelet/clasp and the comfort as it relates to those 2 components on your wrist. Thanks much!! |

I just picked up the new Sub Date (41), also have the previous 116610, just under a 7.5 wrist. The sub, to me is perfect, and I really like the previous version a lot. It is not that bad under the wrist, in fact, not noticeable to me at all. The overall proportions on the new model kill it. YMMV, good luck.

I have big wrists at over 8", and I much prefer the proportions of the new sub. Don't get me wrong, I loved the old one as well, and happily wore those, but the new one I think is an improvement in every way. Including the bracelet and clasp. I don't think there's any issues with proportions at all.

I don’t notice any difference. I have the Root Beer and Kermit. And I had the old sub ND and Date. The clasp difference isn’t noticeable for me, and my wrist is 6.75

My wrist size is a little over 7.5" and I just picked up my 126610LN yesterday. I love the new proportions! I also have the Sd43 and 114060 and to me, the 12 series is the best of both worlds.. better case proportions, wider bracelet and clasp without making it a massive watch.

yes the clasp size difference is very noticeable , that doesn't mean the 12 looks like a bigger watch but with better proportions

7 inch wrist. Had the 114060. I find the new version more comfortable on. I think the larger clasp balances out the case, allowing it to sit on the wrist better. When I first got the 124060, at very first it was more visually different than I thought it would be having the bigger clasp, but after a couple of days it felt normal and don’t even notice. It was also visually different having the wider bracelet, just looks more solid. I love the gold on my bluesy clasp. I am hopeful to pick up the Kermit soon, so best of luck! Would be my 3rd sub 41, so I guess you can say I am a fan. I should add the 114060 has a really unique look. It looks wider as the 41 looks longer if that makes sense. Both are really cool watches.

I’ve not once noticed the clasp or bracelet size. It’s exceedingly comfortable on my 7” wrist and that’s what matters to me. YMMV

Hope you get the call soon OP, it’s an awesome piece.
Picked up my 126610LV Kermit last year, the watch is perfect and the larger clasp contributes to this. You will love it. |

I have an 8" wrist, I have both subs and I can't tell a difference between them when I am wearing it.

I had a 114060 and now have the 124060. I don't notice a difference in the clasp size at all. I much prefer how the 124060 wears.
I hope you get yours soon, you're going to love it! |

I have a 6.5 inch wrist and the new sub wears flatter and more comfortable than the outgoing 6 series. Visually the case side looks more aesthetically pleasing with the trim lugs but the clasp side looks worse in my opinion with the fat clasp. The new clasp FEELS the same as the old one but just looks fatter.

Not enough of a difference that I think about it when looking at it. The watch overall is proportioned very nicely.

Good feedback in here. I can’t wait to get my 126610 or 124060.

As others have said, the new Submariners wear flatter and a bit more comfortable on the wrist, at least to me. I also think the clasp size is perfect and help to balance the watch. YMMV.
Hope you land yours soon OP |

I purchased the 116610LN in March 2020, great watch all around but my only issue was something was just slightly off with the lugs and bracelet, aesthetically speaking. I loved the watch, and still do. Picked up the 124060 about a month ago and the refinements of the bracelet and lugs are perfect. Subtle changes that I’m my mind, are game changing between the models. And the additional clasp size makes it feel simply robust. Not too big, not disproportionate, just right. I couldn’t be happier with the 12 series (although I still love the 11 series, just slightly less).

The length is the same as the old glidelock, so length wise the real estate is the same. No in terms of comfort the clasp feels the exact same as the old one, and the case itself sits flatter and overall the watch does feel more comfortable. When I look at the fatness of the clasp though, sometimes it bothers me. I have smallish wrists at 6.5 and smallish hands and IDK it just feels like it looks a bit off on me sometimes. it might be in my head though.

Went from a 5513 to the 126610, zero complaints. Size is spot on (yes the clasp is a bit wider but after a week I can’t tell that anymore) zero rotor noise on mine. Overall it’s a home run by Rolex. I just wish I could get an oysterflex!

I’ve read about this movement/rotor noise but have yet to experience it. I’m not gentle with the watch either, in fact it already has a disappointing amount of scratches for being a month old. I’ve just been wearing the sh#t out of it. I’ve heard grumblings about the 32XX movements, and even though this is the 3230 movement which is brand new, it’s still based on the 32xx platform. Either way, I don’t think about it or the ‘what if’s’ of the movement, I absolutely love the 124060 and think they’ve perfected the watch. If something happens, I’ll deal with it then, and 5 years of warranty is my peace of mind. I’m excited for you for to get it, you will absolutely love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Small is beautiful, but bigger is better.
My new sub clasp is large, but you don’t notice it. |

Just picked up a 124060 from my AD yesterday and it is even better than I expected.
I always thought the lugs were too big and the bracelet too small on the prior gen. Rolex really nailed the proportions on this one. The clasp (and dial, for that matter) look much bigger in photographs than they do in person. I can't imagine anyone with at least an average size wrist would have any issues with the size of the clasp (unless they are a prior gen sub owner just looking for things to complain about). |

I've got multiple new models with the new movement, and I can't say I've heard any noise from them, nor have I had any problems of any kind.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist. When I tried it on, the clasp was just way too big. It took up the entire underside of my wrist. I just could not live with it. YMMV. Good luck!

I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist. I had that same concern, and it turned out to not be a concern at all. Sits well on the wrist, nothing digs in, no discomfort, I never felt the need to get used to it or that it’s particularly noticeable in any way.
